Kohat-Pindi railcar service to continue on Eid days
KOHAT: The Kohat-Rawalpindi railcar service will continue to run during the Eid holidays and on Friday and Saturday as usual, a notification issued here on Thursday said.
It said the 133-Up Kohat Express would leave Rawalpindi at 3.30pm while from Kohat 134-Down would leave in the morning at 7.30pm. There would be no suspension of service on Eid holidays from May 10 to May 15.
The station master here said that the people of Gumbat tehsil had set up a ticket centre on their own from where they could get the one-way ticket for Rs200. However, the ticket from Kohat would be available for Rs230.
EXEMPTION: Deputy commissioner Abdur Rehman in consultation with the trade unions exempted the bazaar here from lockdown on Friday (today).
In a notification issued here on Thursday, he said that the decision had been made in the wake of continuous upcoming lockdown from May 8 to 16 in the public interest.
AL QUDS DAY: The office-bearers of Al-Quds Movement have announced to hold motorcycle and public rallies while observing Covid-19 SOPs on Friday (today) to express solidarity with the Palestinians.
Addressing a press conference here at Kacha Pakka on Hangu Road, Al Quds Movement provincial president Saqlain Mehdi and local office-bearers said they would hoist Palestinian flags on their houses on the day and raise voice against the atrocities being committed against their Palestinian brothers and sisters.
ARRESTED: The cantonment police have arrested two proclaimed offenders Syed Akbar and Saqib Mohammad from Naway Kallay and Mohammadzai. The two were wanted by Orakzai police in a murder case of a tribesman.
