Four of a family killed on Gwadar-Turbat Highway
GWADAR: Four members of a family were killed and 11 others injured in a head-on collision between a van and a car on Gwadar-Turbat Highway on Saturday.
Levies Force officials said the van, which was going to Gwadar from Turbat, collided with the car coming from the opposite direction near Dasht Singai village. Four people, including two women, died on the spot while 11 others, suffered injuries.
Levies officials said the incident took place due to over-speeding.
Soon after receiving the information about the accident, Levies Force personnel rushed to the site and took the dead and the injured to the Gwadar Teaching Hospital.
The deceased were identified as Zakir Ali, Mujeeb Ahmed, Mahvish and Hasina Bibi. They belonged to the Absar area of Turbat.
After completing medico-legal formalities, the bodies were handed over to the family of the deceased.
The injured included 10 women and one man.
They were identified as Naima, Fatima, Nadira, Sabrina, Fatima Bibi, Sadina, Wasima, Saira, Hawa and Sumira and Mohammad Ashraf. The condition of two injured women was stated to be serious.
Bullet-riddled body found
Meanwhile, police found a bullet-riddled body from the Padrak area of Turbat in Kech District.
Area residents informed the local administration about the presence of the body.
Police took the body to the district hospital, Turbat.
The motive behind the killing was not known so far.
The deceased, identified as Altaf, was a resident of Koloaiy Bazaar of Turbat. The body was handed over to the bereaved family after autopsy.
