Parvez seeks funds for Gujrat

GUJRAT: The PML-Q, an ally of the ruling PTI in Punjab and federal governments, has demanded the provision of uplift funds to Gujrat equal tothe funds being spent in Dera Ghazi Khan and Mianwali (the native towns of Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and Prime Minister Imran Khan, respectively).

This was told by Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, acting Punjab governor, to the locals after inauguration of a recently-built road at Sada Chak area of the city outskirts on Saturday.

“I have asked the PTI government it is the right of the people of Gujrat to get such an importance as the PML- N government of Shehbaz Sharif had deprived Gujrat of uplift during its 10-year tenure for being the hometown of the PML-Q leadership.”

He said now we also say to the PTI government that the Shehbaz government ignored this constituency and provided no funds. Now spend development funds on Gujrat considering it Dera Ghazi Khan or Mianwali, he said.

Mr Elahi said the repeated Israel attack on Al-Aqsa Masjid after ceasefire between Israel and Palestine is in fact an attempt to sabotage the UN efforts. He said the UN needs to do legislation to stop Israel from barbarism in Palestine.
