Federal govt focusing on uplift of Sindh, says Haleem

SUKKUR: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Sindh vice president and Leader of Opposition in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh has said the federal government is focusing on development of Sindh.

Work on the Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway would begin soon, he observed while addressing a press conference at the residence of Sukkur region PTI president Syed Tahir Ali Shah in Rohri near here on Tuesday.

He said Asad Umar had practically started implementation of Rs446 billion uplift package. He said Sindh would get 3G and 4G facilities, more gas supply as well as more National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) offices.

He said that during the past 13 years, Rs1,650bn were spent on uplift projects, but during the current year, the federal government had given more than Rs1,100bn for development works in Sindh.

He said health was a provincial subject, but the government of Sindh had not purchased even a single vaccine.

He said Ehsaas cash programme supplied the largest amount of money. Of the amount, 34per cent, Rs65bn, were given to the people of Sindh, he added.

Haleem Adil said that despite all those efforts, still the opponents asked what Imran Khan had given to people.

He said the question was what the Sindh government had given to the people of Sindh. It had given bodies and deprived people of basic facilities.

He said bandits challenged the writ of the Sindh government by making video of martyrdom of cops in Shikarpur.

Haleem said that after the 18th Amendment, Rs753bn were spent on law and order in Sindh, but still the police APCs were penetrated by bullets.

He said there was a “criminal” government in Sindh and chief minister was responsible for the situation in the province.
