Alyani reviews proposals for creation of new divisions, districts

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani on Monday reviewed recommendations about creation of new tehsils, districts and divisions in the province.

Presiding over a meeting, the chief minister directed the formation of a committee to reform the Board of Revenue.

He approved in principle the bifurcation of Qila Abdullah district into two districts and the establishment of Loralai division.

Mr Alyani directed a committee comprising senior members of the Board of Revenue to review all factors and continue work for the establishment of remaining districts and divisions in the province.

The chief minister was briefed about allotment of land for development projects. “The establishment of new districts and divisions will improve service delivery and financial and administrative performance of the government,” he said.

Mr Alyani said education, health and civic amenities would be available to the people in their areas. He ordered setting up of a committee for reforms in the Board of Revenue. “The world is changing. Let’s move on to modernise revenue collection,” he added.

Provincial ministers Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, Engineer Zamarak Khan Achakzai, Mir Saleem Ahmed Khosa, Noor Mohammad Dummar, Mitha Khan Kakar and Mohammad Khan Utmankhel and Adviser to the CM Malik Naeem Khan Bazai and Awami National Party Parliamentary Leader Asghar Khan also attended the meeting.
