SHC orders action against police officials

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court said on Wednesday that a police team was found involved in illegal occupation of a building despite the court’s order to hand it over to its real owner and ordered action against the responsible police officials.

The single-judge bench headed by Justice Nazar Akbar also directed senior police officers to take legal action against those private persons involved in the illegal occupation and damaging of the premises.

It observed that the whole exercise of execution of court order with police help was eyewash since the police practically supported the illegal occupants and prepared a dubious compliance report.

The bench observed that DSP Iqbal Shaikh and Gulistan-i-Jauhar SHO Abdullah Bhutto seemed to have tried to deceive this court by assuring that the illegal occupants reoccupy the premises when the court staff left after handing over the building to its real owner.
