PTI leader shot dead over dispute

GUJRAT: PTI leader Ijaz Ranjha who is a close relative of party stalwart Nadeem Afzal Chan, was gunned down and his cousin Ameer Ranjha injured by the rival group over a dispute of installation of an electricity transformer at Miana Gondal Chowk of Mandi Bahauddin’s Malikwal Town on Thursday.

Miana Gondal SHO Sajid Bhatti is among the 10 suspects.

Reports said there was a dispute between Ijaz Ranjha and Hamid Ranjha of Miana Gondal for quite some time over the installation of a transformer and both again quarrelled during which Hamid Ranjha opened fire and shot dead Ijaz and injured his cousin Ameer.

The suspects managed to flee.

The injured was shifted to the Malikwal THQ hospital where doctors also conducted autopsy of the dead body.

Police registered a case against 10 suspects including five nominated men under sections 302, 324, 148, 149 and 109 of Pakistan Penal Code on the report of Nazar Muhammad, the brother of deceased. The SHO has been nominated in the case lodged under section 109 of PPC.
