New police chief assumes office
PESHAWAR: Newly-appointed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police Moazzam Jah Ansari on Friday assumed the charge of his office.
A smart contingent of police presented guard of honour to him on his arrival at the Central Police Office (CPO) here.
Later, the IGP laid floral wreath on the Yadgar-i-Shuhada and offered Fateha.
Before his posting as the provincial police chief, Moazzam Ansari was serving as Commandant Frontier Constabulary.
Mr Ansari did his masters in International Relations and graduation from the National Defence University Islamabad. He joined the Police Service of Pakistan in 1989.
Moazzam Ansari as a senior police officer has vast experience and has attended many training courses in the country and abroad.
He performed his duty to the best of his capability on various key posts in the police of the four provinces, Frontier Constabulary, Intelligence Bureau and Federal Investigation Agency.
Later, talking to the high-ranking police officers at the CPO, he said they must stand up as a team and contribute to see the force successful. He said the police officers must come up to the expectations of the general public through better service delivery.
He also paid tributes to the precious sacrifices offered by the police personnel and officers in the fight against militancy. “I have never come across such a brave force as the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police and I am proud to lead this force,” remarked the IGP.
