Bilawal rejects ‘anti-people’ budget

MARDAN: Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Saturday said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf-led government had presented an anti-people budget for the next financial year and concealed the skyrocketing inflation through false figures.

Talking to reporters at the hujra of party leader Rahimdad Khan here on Saturday, the PPP chairman said Prime Minister Imran Khan had failed to fulfil his election promise of the people’s development.

He said the soaring prices of essential commodities were the ‘real face’ of the change promised by the ruling PTI.

Mr Bilawal said prices had reached their highest level in the country’s history but the government was unable to control them.

He also complained about the rising poverty in the country and said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had recorded higher poverty rate compared with other provinces.

Flays govt over rising prices

The PPP chairman said only his party’s government had increased the salaries of employees and pensions 100 per cent.

He said the PTI government was trying to rig the upcoming elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

“We have raised objection to the AJK electoral lists,” he said.

Mr Bilawal said his party would form the next government in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

He said the PPP’s workers were not afraid of any crackdown by the National Accountability Bureau, which had lost credibility for being a partial institution.

The PPP chairman said that his party’s government would ensure true accountability in the country.

He claimed that the PPP would form the government in the centre very soon to resolve the people’s issues.

Mr Bilawal urged the youth to join hands with him against the current incompetent government of the PTI to form the people’s own government.
