44 buildings declared dangerous in Bahawalpur
BAHAWALPUR, Oct 25: At least 44 buildings have been declared dangerous for residential purpose in the district. The DCO had a survey conducted of old and dilapidated buildings in the district during the past week after the collapse of Margalla Towers in Islamabad due to earthquake.
The Hasilpur tehsil administration has got vacated about eight dangerous buildings from their dwellers. While the remaining dilapidated buildings will soon be got evacuated by the respective tehsil administrations.
DIES: Cholera claimed the life of a twelve-year-old girl on Tuesday at Mauza Ghauspur in Ahmedpur tehsil.
Reports reaching here said that Rabia, the daughter of Qazi Hakim, died of cholera that reportedly broke out in the area.
Three other children of Manzoor Mai and Qazi Muhammad Siddique, also suffering from cholera, were admitted to Ahmedpur East THQ Hospital, where their condition was stated to be stable.
Meanwhile, health department officials claimed that teams rushed to the affected areas had reported that the situation was under control there.
