Misery and facts

THIS refers to the front-page picture (June 4) of the Expo Centre vaccination facility, showing people apparently being treated in an organised manner at the venue. Things at this vaccination centre, however, are different than what the picture shows. My relatives visited the venue on June 5 and their car was stolen from inside the parking area. Footage of the car being stolen is there, but is apparently useless because no action has been taken on that basis.

The computers and printers are quite old and not reliable. My daughter visited the Expo Centre on June 7, only to see the staff leaving the data-processing counter saying there was some problem with the computers.

There was no one to rectify the fault and accommodate the citizens at some other counter. When the people there raised a hue and cry, they were taken to a counter where the staff was not familiar with typing on computers.

I visited the Expo Centre, which is a 24-hour facility, at about 8.30pm. It was absolutely dark. It was difficult for me to drive, to drop my wife, aged over 60 years, near the entrance, and locate a parking place, for there was no proper guidance.

Moreover, one has to get the wheelchair from inside the centre and not at the entrance of the building. There was a long queue outside the centre and people could be seen standing there. The aforementioned picture makes it look like a well-organised facility which I did not find it to be.
