Cleanliness campaign launched at PHC
PESHAWAR: Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Qaiser Rashid Khan on Monday inaugurated a weeklong cleanliness drive on the court’s premises.
Speaking at a ceremony on the occasion, he said it was their religious obligation to ensure a neat and clean environment.
Justice Qaiser Rashid emphasised that the purpose of the activity was to raise awareness about the importance of cleanliness among the court staff, lawyers and general public. He said a clean environment was important for a healthy society and for that every member of the society had to play his due role.
He added the members of the district judiciary would also take part in the campaign.
PHC senior judge Justice Roohul Amin Khan Chamkani, PHC Bar Association President Bahlol Khattak, other office-bearers of the association, and officers of the high court attended the function.
According to a press release, this is the third consecutive year that the PHC has launched a cleanliness week.
Meanwhile, a cleanliness awareness walk was held on the premises of the district courts.
District and sessions judge Ashfaq Taj, other judicial officers and office-bearers of the Peshawar District Bar Association participated.
The participants were holding banners inscribed with messages urging citizens to keep the environment clean.
