Among Us-shaped McNugget sells for nearly $100,000
A McDonald’s Chicken McNugget that bears a resemblance to the player characters in popular video game Among Us sold on eBay for just short of $100,000.
The McNugget, listed by eBay user polizna, started at only 99 cents, but after 184 bids the item sold for $99,997. The listing said the “Among Us shaped nugget” came from a McDonald’s BTS meal, a combo meal inspired by K-pop band BTS. The seller promised the nugget would be delivered in edible condition.
“This food product has an average expiration of about 14 days and will be delivered prior to expiration,” the listing states.
The eBay post caught the attention of the official Among Us account on Twitter, which shared a link to the auction. The post received a reply from the official Xbox account, which suggested the nugget should come with a packet of McDonald’s Szechuan sauce. “I have Szechuan and at buyer’s request will ship some with the nugget,” polizna wrote in response to the suggestion. It was unclear whether the buyer requested the sauce.
Noah’s Ark replica confiscated
A replica of Noah’s Ark is currently stuck in Ipswich, England, because it does not have the correct paperwork to say that it is seaworthy.
The vessel arrived at Orwell Quay in November 2019 and was detained by the Coastguard. The £2.6 million biblical museum is owned by Dutch TV producer Aad Peters, who could apply for an exemption to be allowed to return to Holland, but the coastguard insists it is not safe.
The coastguard found a range of issues, including overdue services for life-saving equipment such as life jackets, fire kit and lifeboats. They said they could not ‘rely on the grace of God’ to let the boat leave.
The owner said it has always been classed as a ‘non-certified floating object’ and had only left its home country on an ‘infrequent and exceptional basis’. The owners have been continuously seeking a means (of release) and (permittance) to be towed on a single voyage from the UK to the Netherlands, with an agreed towage plan.
Alligator wanders into Florida post office
Sheriff’s deputies and a wildlife trapper were summoned to a Florida post office when a customer who came in to mail a package discovered a seven-foot alligator in the lobby.
The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to the post office in Spring Hill after a patron reported a gator wandering in the lobby.
The sheriff’s office said the post office has automatic double doors that likely allowed the alligator easy entry into the building.
A wildlife trapper safely escorted the gator out of the building, the sheriff’s office said.
