HYDERABAD: Demand for probe into trader’s murder

HYDERABAD, Oct 27: The Maheshwari Students Organ-ization staged a demonstration outside the press club here on Thursday in protest against murder of Ram Lal Maheshwari, a businessman of Umerkot.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Amlookdas, Engineer Dilip Kumar and Dr Kumar Lal demanded that the murder accused be tried in a special court and awarded deterrent punishment within one month by holding day-to-day proceedings.

They said that the DPO Umerkot should be removed and the investigation of the case be handed over to an impartial officer.

They demanded that the Sindh chief minister should visit the house of bereaved family to offer condolences and assure protection to the Hindu community.

They called upon the Sindh home minister to tender an apology for giving incorrect statement on the issue in the Sindh Assembly and that the bereaved family be paid adequate compensation.
