Body of missing boy recovered in Kohat

KOHAT: Hangu police on Thursday recovered the body of a grade three student kidnapped some 14 days ago and arrested his stepmother along with her two accomplices for the alleged murder.

Addressing a press conference in the office of DPO Hangu, SP investigation Arshad Mehmood Khan and Thall DSP Saadat Khan said the Thall police had received a report about the missing 11-year-old Mohammad Asim a fortnight back.

DPO Ikramullah constituted a team under his leadership which collected evidence and interviewed many people and was able to trace the culprits.

The stepmother of the deceased, Gul Sanga, and her accomplices Gulzar Khan and Jumarat Khan led the team to the deserted place where they had buried the dead body.

They admitted that after kidnapping and later strangulated the boy.

The SP told journalists that after postmortem the dead body had been handed over to the relatives and a case under sections 302, 201, 202, and 126 had been registered against the killers.

The accused were later remanded by the court in the custody of the investigation branch for further interrogation.
