Four men gang-rape seminary student in Kasur

KASUR: Four suspects allegedly gang-raped a minor seminary student on Friday in the limits of Kot Radha Kishan police station.

This is the sixth incident of rape of a child in as many days in Kasur where child abuse has apparently taken the form of an epidemic.

According to police, four suspects from the age group of 30 to 40, all residents of Mohallah Farooqia, took 11-year-old boy to a deserted place near Rohi Nullah when he was on his way to a seminary.

The men allegedly gang-raped the boy and made a video to blackmail him and his family.

Police lodged a case after medical report confirmed sodomy and claimed to have arrested three out of the four nominated suspects.

According to a report on Thursday, four suspects, two of them nominated (aged about 20 and 25), gang-raped a 14-year-seminary student after kidnapping her when she was on her way to a seminary at village Bhalla in the limits of the Saddar Police Station.

The suspects kept her in captivity for three days at an unidentified place but, later, released her through some influential of the village.

According to police, one the suspects was a relative of the girl. Police have not made any arrest yet.

On Wednesday, Phoolnagar police held a prayer leader for allegedly raping nine-year-old student at the quarter of mosque at village Sherpur.

In another case on Tuesday, a Child Protection and Welfare Bureau team recovered a girl abused by his father.

The survivor was rescued after she uploaded her complaint on prime minister’s portal.

Two persons of village Hussain Khanwala, Chak 8, abused a five-year-old boy when he was playing outside his house.

At Fatehpur village, two suspects took away an eight-year-old boy to a deserted place and assaulted him.

In most of the cases mentioned above, the police have registered cases and took action.

However, the child abuse cases are ignored by the police so much so that the department issues a crime report to local media every month to show performance but it never includes action against the rapists of minors in the report.
