MNA’s son booked for gas, power theft at factory

KASUR: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Saturday registered two first information reports (FIRs) against as many suspects, including a son of PTI MNA, for allegedly stealing gas and electricity to the tone of millions of rupees at their industrial unit in Pattoki.

According to an FIR registered under section 462 C of PPC read with section 5(2)47 PCA, a team raided a lime and plaster of paris manufacturing unit at Kot Sardar Kahn Singh on Sara-i-Mughal Road in Pattoki tehsil of Kasur. The team found the industrial unit was using gas through direct supply.

The unit, according to FIR, was run by Sardar Ayaz Ahmed Khan, son of PTI MNA Sardar Talib Nakai and nephew of provincial minister Sardar Asif Nakai, and a local Nasir Mahmood.

The team disconnected the gas supply and collected case property.

The FIR said the role of other owners and occupants and SNGPL officials would be determined during the course of investigation.

In a separate case, a team raided the same industrial unit at about 5am and found suspect Ayaz using electricity through direct supply. The team also found domestic connection on industrial premises.

The FIR alleged the suspect had been using transformer [at the unit] that was sanctioned for tube-well. The suspect manged his escape. Raids were under way for arrest.
