IGP orders clearing police stations of impounded vehicles

ISLAMABAD: Inspector General Police (IGP) Qazi Jamilur Rehman has ordered shifting of impounded vehicles parked in police stations for long to some other place, and hand over the recovered one to their owners within next 15 days, police said.

He further directed the official concerned to auction unclaimed vehicles and bikes.

He also sought improvement in the sanitation and hygiene at the city police stations.

IGP Rehman was visiting Shalimar and Karachi Company police station along with DIG (Operations) Afzaal Ahmad Kausar, SSP (Operations) Dr Syed Mustafa Tanweer and Additional SP Farhat Abbas Kazmi to review the water situation, sanitation and hygiene in the residential barracks of the police stations.

During his visit, IGP reviewed residential facilities for Eagle Squad personnel at the Shalimar police station.

He ordered construction of separate parking shed for the Eagle Squad motor bikes.

DIG Kausar also inquired about the day-to-day affairs from the officials at the Front Desk.

The IGP especially directed for improving cleanliness situation in the lockup, residential barracks, store and record room. Mr Rehman also directed the police officials for early disposal of the ongoing investigations.
