Covid vaccination of transport drivers, commuters begins in Kohat
KOHAT: The Regional Transport Authority (RTA) and district health department here on Tuesday launched the vaccination of drivers and passengers through mobile service at bus stations to protect them from Covid-19 and contain spread of the virus.
Acting on the directives of Kohat commissioner Javed Marwat, the district health officer Dr Sameen Jan, traffic warden Arab Jan and RTA secretary administered vaccine to the staff and passengers on the routes of Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Bannu, DI Khan, Lahore, Hangu, etc.
They asked the passengers and transporters to take advantage of the free vaccination and get it themselves as soon as possible.
They said that the only precaution against coronavirus was to stop it from spreading through precautions and vaccination.
SCHOOLS SOLARISED: Officials of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) and secondary and elementary education, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, secretary Hafiz Mohammad Ibraheem inaugurated completed solar schemes in schools.
Speaking at the ceremony, UNOPS project officials, Shahid Ullah and Shiraz Shahid, said the department provided infrastructure, procurement and project management services to help build the future of students.
The work on Bazidkhel, Togh Bala and Togh Payan primary and middle girls’ schools had started last year after approval by MPA Ziaullah Bangash.
District education officer (female) Rizwana Liaquat, deputy district education officer Qaiser Khan and planning and development officers also attended the functions.
Meanwhile, secretary communication and works Ijaz Hussain Ansari has said that the motto of National Engineering Council is to create more jobs for unemployed engineers who are the builders of the nation.
He said this while inaugurating the new model divisional office of the superintending engineer here on Tuesday which would accommodate the executive engineer, sub-divisional officials and other staff. The secretary, who is the NEC vice-chariman, also launched his campaign for 2021 elections at a meeting.
