Pact signed over tribe’s revenue share at Torkham

KHYBER: The estranged Khugakhel tribe of Landi Kotal has finally reached a written agreement with the Federal Board of Revenue and National Logistic Cell on its adequate monetary share in the monthly income which the NLC gets from import and export with Afghanistan at Torkham border.

A five-member committee of Khugakhel elders put the signatures on the agreement after extended negotiations with the FBR and NLC officials in the presence of commandant Khyber Rifles and Khyber deputy commissioner, who also acted as facilitators.

Malak Masal Khan, a Khugakhel elder, told this correspondent the NLC had agreed to give 15 per cent of its monthly earnings along with determining the additional land it had acquired for its customs terminal.
