CM removes board official for helping son in examination in Malakand
LOWER DIR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Wednesday removed the controller of examinations, Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Malakand, for allowing his son to attempt paper in a separate room during the ongoing secondary school certificate examinations.
A video showing the official’s son solving paper sitting in a room locked from outside went viral on social media.
The video allegedly shot by local mediapersons shows the boy solving the Chemistry paper with the help of a book and other cheating material.
“In exercise of powers conferred upon him under relevant laws, the chief minister, who is the controlling authority of the BISEs, has removed Mian Wazir Jan, Controller of Examinations (BS-18), BISE Malakand, and repatriated him to the elementary and secondary education department for further necessary action as per law,” according to a notification issued by the education department.
As per the notification, secretary BISE Malakand has been authorised to hold the additional charge of the controller of examinations till further others.
Meanwhile, students and youth staged protest demonstrations in Timergara and Chakdara against the controller of examinations for allegedly facilitating his son in the SSC examination.
The protesters in Timergara claimed the son of Mian Wazir Jan was solving the Chemistry paper with a helper in a room locked from the outside, while there was no supervisory staff present on the occasion.
Islami Jamiat Talba, Adenzai chapter, also protested against the board official.
