ISLAMABAD: As many as 127 people were diagnosed with Covid-19 on Thursday against 2,043 tests conducted by the health authorities while the positivity rate was 6.2pc in the capital.

Officials of the capital administration said that the death of a female patient from the 80-89 age group was reported. She was a resident of Sohan.

Out of the 127 who tested positive, 71 were male and 56 were female patients.

Officials said 38 cases were reported in the age group of 20-29, followed by 21 in 30-39, 19 in 10-19, 14 in 40-49, 11 in 0-9, 10 each in 50-59 and 60-69, three in 70-79 and one in 80 and above.

Likewise, eight cases are reported from Lohi Bher, followed by seven each from I-8, Rawat, G-13, five each from G-9, Tarlai, G-7, G-6, four each from G-9, I-10, F-10, three each from Bhara Kahu, Sohan, Alipur, Chak Shahzad, Bari Imam, G-12, two cases each from G-10, E-11, I-9, F-6, F-15 and one each from Khana, G-8, F-7, Kurri, Koral, Rawal Town, G5, G-14, D-12, B-17, Jhangi Syedan and Saidpur. Addresses of 26 cases are not known.

Rawalpindi

As many as 84 people tested positive for Covid-19 and 14 patients recovered in Rawalpindi district on Thursday.

In Rawalpindi district, there are 598 active patients --116 are in hospitals and 482 patients are home isolated.

Majority of the new cases were brought from the garrison city including 24 from cantonment areas, 19 from Potohar Town and 28 from Rawal Town.

Three patients arrived from Taxila, two from Kallar Syedan, one from Gujar Khan, two from Attock, one each from Chakwal, Islamabad, Lahore, KPK and Sargodha.

The new patients of Covid-19 were admitted to different hospitals of Rawalpindi city including 22 to Holy Family Hospital, 17 to Benazir Bhutto Hospital, 26 patients to Rawalpindi Institute of Urology and 14 to Fauji Foundation Hospital.

There are three patients on ventilator in Rawalpindi, 45 are on Oxygen and 31 are stable.

Assistant Commissioner Cantonment Nausheen Israr sealed five commercial outlets in Rawalpindi cantonment as the staff was not vaccinated. Odeon Cinema, Rahat Café, Fatima Mall, Butt Karahi and Murgh Palauo failed to vaccinate their staff.

She warned of strict action against those who failed to adopt Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs). She said all the commercial outlets had been asked to vaccinate their staff as soon as possible.
