SHC upholds life term in murder case
KARACHI: The Sindh High Court has upheld the life imprisonment awarded to a man by the trial court in a murder case.
A sessions court had sentenced Mohammad Usman to life in prison in April 2019 for killing his friend Mohammad Irfan at the former’s house in a North Nazimabad locality in 2012. The convict through his lawyer challenged the trial court order before the SHC and contended that there was no element of premeditation on the part of the appellant as the crime had been committed during a sudden fight and as a consequence of grave provocation constituted by the deceased as he attempted to rape the appellant’s wife.
