Rawalpindi tighten grip against Multan

RAWALPINDI, Oct 30: Rawalpindi tightened their grip on their Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Gold League match against Multan on Sunday, the third day of four at the KRL Stadium.

Paceman Rizwan Akbar winged in to take 5-81 as Multan resuming their first innings at 108-5 were bowled out for 169 to concede a lead of 180 runs.

Kamran Hussain, not out 4 overnight, went on to score a half century but his effort was just not enough.

Besides the five-wicket Rizwan, Sohail Tanvir and Babar Naeem picked up two wickets each.

A Mohammad Waseem century (110) then saw Rawalpindi extend their lead as they finished the day at 224-6. Saeed Anwar Jr bowled well to take 3-59.
