Six CIA men remanded in drugs case

KARACHI: A local court on Thursday remanded in judicial custody six personnel of the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) detained for allegedly attempting to smuggle 76kg of charas in a police mobile van.

Rangers reportedly arrested six personnel of the CIA-Jamshoro in Clifton on July 18 for allegedly bringing the contraband to sell it in Karachi.

Identified as Mohammad Yaqub, Ghulam Abbas, Aijaz Ali, Rahib Husain, Ahmed Nawaz and Abdul Hameed, the six CIA men were later handed over to the Boat Basin police.

On Thursday, the investigating officer produced them before the judicial magistrate (South) on completion of their physical remand in police custody.

Therefore, the judge remanded them in judicial custody till July 31 directing the IO to submit an investigation report against them on the next date.
