Railway land recovered in Haripur
HARIPUR: The Pakistan Railways has claimed the recovery of 42,500 square feet land from illegal occupants in Haripur.
According to Pakistan Railwaysland officer Malik Khalid Wahid, the railway police with the help of the district administration and police carried out an anti-encroachment operation on the track’s sides near Haripur railway station and demolished 37 cemented structures, including houses and shops to claim the organisation’s land, whose market value is Rs59.5 million.
He said the action was taken after the illegal land occupants ignored notices for voluntary encroachment demolition.

Prof Sufiyan had died of cardiac arrest on July9 at the age of 61 years.
As a teacher of Urdu language, he served in different colleges of the province, including postgraduate colleges of Haripur and Abbottabad, for three decades.
Noted poet Dr Amir Sohail chaired the condolence reference, while Prof Waheed Qureshi, Adil Saeed Qureshi, Dr Ziaur Rasheed, Tahir Gul, Hasan Saif and Dr Umme Rubab, daughter of Prof Sufiyan, highlighted different aspects of the life and literary work of the deceased.
The participants offered fateha for him afterwards.
