Balochistan CM hails police sacrifices for improved security

QUETTA / CHAGAI: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani has said that the law and order situation in the province has significantly improved due to immense sacrifices rendered by police personnel.

Speaking at a ceremony on the occasion of Police Martyrs Day on Wednesday, he said the sacrifices of policemen could not be forgotten.

The chief minister said the role of police was very important in protecting the lives and property of the people.

“Today, we pay homage to all the martyrs of the police who sacrificed their lives for the sake of law and order in the province,” he said.

Mr Alyani said his government was putting the police on modern lines and the police department was being equipped with modern equipment and technology, while a data command and communication centre had been set up to bring the police in line with requirements of modern times.

He expressed sympathy and solidarity with the families of the martyrs and said the Balochistan government would always extend all help and cooperation to them.

Ceremonies to mark the Police Martyrs Day were also held in Chagai, Nushki and Kharan.

Chagai Deputy Commissioner Agha Sher Zaman, along with Dalbandin Assistant Commissioner Javed Domki, participated in a ceremony held at Police Lines, Dalbandin. Chagai District Police Officer (DPO) Anwar Badini paid tribute to the martyrs.

Similar ceremonies were held in Nushki and Kharan where family members of martyred policemen also participated.

Syed Iqbal Gharshen and Nazir Ahmed Kurd — DPOs of Nushki and Kharan — distributed gifts and cash awards among the family members of martyred policemen.

Frontier Corps Kharan Rifles Com­mandant Colonel Mohammad Umer presented gifts to the martyrs’ families.
