Labourer killed in Haripur wall collapse
HARIPUR: A labourer was killed and another received critical injuries when the wall of an under-construction shop fell on them in Sera-i-Saleh area here on Thursday.
Police and eyewitnesses said that two laborers were busy in the construction work when a newly-built wall fell on them, burying both of them under the debris.
The rescue workers rushed to the scene and shifted the injured labourers to Trauma Centre where doctors pronounced one of them dead. He was later identified as Rashid Khan, a resident of Sera-i-Gadai village. The other worker identified Inayatullah was admitted to the hospital for treatment.
MEETING: A meeting of police department was held here on Thursday with SP Mujibur Rehman in the chair.
He directed the investigation staff to utilise all energies for completion of challans of all the pending cases within next 14 days and trace the culprits of all the untraced criminal cases.
He discussed the cases one by one at police station level and took notice of pending cases. He ordered the investigation officers to complete the investigation of all the pending cases and submit their challans in the court so that the victims could get justice.
Earlier, the SP also oriented the investigation officers on anti-human trafficking law and the Acts guaranteeing protection to women and children against the excesses and violence. He asked the officers to ensure that such cases were investigated with due attention and professional skills to bring the culprits to justice.
