HYDERABAD Govt urged to allow Benazir to return
HYDERABAD, Nov 2: Tando Mohammad Khan district People’s Party Parliamentarians president Mohammad Amin Lakho has criticized the government for refusing to allow PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto to return to the country and take part in relief measures for earthquake victims.
He was speaking at a news conference in Tando Mohammad Khan on Wednesday.
He said the devastation caused by the earthquake in the north of Pakistan was unimaginable. With the nation facing disaster of such a magnitude, he said, the presence of Ms Bhutto in the country was necessary. However, he regretted that the rulers were still playing politics and had denied permission to Ms Bhutto to return. He sarcastically said that while the rulers had welcomed help from Israel, they had refused non-political and unconditional help from the former prime minister.
He claimed that Ms Bhutto was the undisputed leader of tens of millions of Pakistanis and she should be allowed to take part in efforts to mitigate people’s sufferings.
Alam Khan Notkani, Abdul Karim Lashari, Mohammad Amin, Mashooq Bhatti and other PPP leaders were also present.
