Story Time: The medicine that saved lives

John was a 19-year-old boy, he belonged to a poor family. He led a simple life in a small house with his parents. Since his childhood, he was interested in the field of medicine and dreamt of becoming a scientist in this field.

He was studying in a local college, but wanted to continue his education in any prestigious universities abroad to pursue his dreams. However, due to lack of finances, his parents could not meet the high fees of any foreign university. The only way for John to continue his education was to win a scholarship. Although he was very good in studies, it was hard to get a scholarship due to the tough competition. But John didn’t lose hope and studied even harder and got good grades. John applied for scholarship in multiple universities abroad and waited. Days passed by, none of them gave him any response, he was losing hope until one fine day, John received a letter.

With shivering hands, John opened the envelope. To his joy, it was from one of the universities he had applied for, which had accepted his application

With shivering hands, John opened the envelope. To his joy, it was from one of the universities he had applied for, which had accepted his application. John found out that he was among the few lucky candidates who had got admission in the prestigious university, because of the Covid-19 pandemic, which was still taking a toll on the lives of innocent people, the university was accepting very few applications, and surprisingly, he got one.

With very little resources, John managed to go abroad and studied hard. All those years, he was continuously thinking about creating a medicine to make a permanent solution for the coronavirus. John worked day and night, for months and months to invent the medicine.

While John was still struggling to come up with a formula, a relative of his caught the virus and granted John the permission to test the medicine on him. A lot of crucial work went into the medicine’s making and finally John was able to test it on his relative and to John’s amazement it worked.

He named the medicine ‘Biotech’. Meetings were held and the medicine was further tested. Soon the medicine was approved to be sold to the public. The production and sales of the product sky-rocketed overnight. John, who was a kind-hearted person, knew that poor people won’t be able to afford his medicine, thus he made arrangements to sell the medicine for free to underprivileged people.

Shortly, the detrimental effect of the virus was seen to be controlled and cured by his new medicine. The world’s finest medical companies rewarded and honoured John. John then became a rich man and opened his own hospital with the finest doctors of the country to serve the underprivileged, and that also for free. His parents were very proud of him and the world too was thankful for saving the lives of countless people from this dreadful virus.
