Arbab Rahim’s PML merges into PTI
HYDERABAD: Peoples Muslim League formally merged into Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf on Monday. This was announced by PML founder leader Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim’s spokesman Zulfiqar Mallah at a press conference in Hyderabad Press Club.
Mr Mallah, who was his erstwhile party’s central information secretary, said the PML had now formally become part of the PTI and all its leaders and workers had reposed full confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan and Dr Arbab Rahim, who had joined the party earlier.
He said: “Imran Khan is an honest man who has proved himself as a leader of high calibre and international repute due to his pragmatic policies.”
He said: “Dr Rahim and PTI leaders will defend Sindh’s rights and raise voice at all forums against uninterrupted loot and plunder committed during 14 years rule of Pakistan Peoples Party.”
He said that provincial government had destroyed Sindh by committing corruption on a massive scale but PTI would not allow them to continue with the corrupt practices. Past regimes had destroyed national economy by bad governance and free-for-all loot and plunder of national exchequer, he claimed.
He said that Imran Khan was the only leader, who had resisted the world’s sole superpower United States of America, while in past no one had dared object to America.
He expressed hope that after Dr Rahim, several important personalities and members of general public would enter the fold of PTI. Dr Rahim would visit every nook and corner of the province to strengthen the party and enable it to win next general elections across Sindh, he said.
Mallah said in answer to a question that several prominent personalities were in touch with Dr Rahim and they would soon announce joining PTI, which was the only alternative to PPP in Sindh. PTI would not only win local government elections but also emerge victorious in general elections across the province, he said.
He expressed gratitude to the federal government for providing Rangers security to Dr Rahim.
PTI Hyderabad district president Dr Asim Baloch and other party leaders were also present at the press conference.
