HYDERABAD: 5 killed, 29 injured in road accidents
HYDERABAD, Nov 6: Five people were killed and 29 were injured in separate road accidents in two days in the city and its outskirts. Two persons, Surya Begum, wife of Sohail Noonari, and Basheer Ahmed were killed when two cars collided head-on near Lunikot on the Super Highway. They were residents of Gulshan-e-Iqbal in Karachi.
Inspector Sohail Noonari, Adnan and Zafar Arain were injured in the accident and were shifted to the civil hospital of Hyderabad.
In another accident, Allah Rakhi, 50, died when she was hit by a coach at the Jan-e-Alam chowk.
The driver fled from the scene while the Hussainabad police impounded the vehicle.
In a separate accident, Abid Ali was killed and Moazzam Ali was injured when their motorbike was hit by a car near the Filter plant on the Hyderabad-Jamshoro road.
A young girl, Hina, daughter of Sabir Hussain, was overrun by a bus near Amri and died on the spot.
Twenty passengers of a van were injured when it overturned near Manjhand.
The passengers were returning from the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.
The injured were Najamuddin, Sajjan, Sharf-uddin, Afzal, Yar Mohammad, Zafar Ali, Abdul Hafeez, Abdul Razzaq, Yamin and Shafqat.
Five persons including Sabahat Bano Samiullah, Talib Hussain, Mohammad Zarif and Iftikhar were injured when two cars collided head-on in the Site area. The injured were shifted to the civil hospital.
KILLED: A one-and-a-half-year-old boy died when he fell into an uncovered manhole while playing with other children in phase-II of Qasi-mabad.
In another incident, a drug addict, Fareed Khan, 55, was found dead at the roundabout of Latifabad unit No. 8.
Police said he was a resident of Latifabad unit No. 12.
His body was handed over to heirs.
