Suspect ‘involved in two cops murder killed in shoot-out’

LAHORE: Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) police claimed on Sunday to have killed a robber involved in murder of two policemen in Manga Mandi some days ago.

Iqbal Town CIA police received information that three suspected robbers had set up a picket at Saggian Bridge and were looting the citizens on Saturday night.

The suspects opened fire on the police van when it reached Badaruddin Road.

The police retaliated and shot one of the alleged robbers identified as Abdul Majeed who was also a proclaimed offender and involved in murder cases registered against him with Factory Area and Data Darbar police stations while two of his accomplices fled.

Police later shifted the body to the morgue.

Majeed and his accomplices were also involved in killing two constables Adil Hussain and Abad Ali in Manga Mandi area on Aug 31.

Both the constables were on duty when they tried to stop two bikers for identification on Manga-Raiwind Road early in the morning but they sped away.

The policemen chased the suspect who opened fire and shot at and injured both constables. The policemen succumbed to their injuries on way to hospital.
