In his acceptance and commencement speech at the ceremony, Mushtaq addressed the importance of educational empowerment in the developing world and said, "In today’s time and age, the only thing which is certain is uncertainty, the only constant in the world is change, and the only thing you must learn is to unlearn and relearn."

He also thanked the University of Hertfordshire for honouring him with the Doctorate of Education and expressed his joy of receiving the honorary degree from an institution that has a legacy of educating and nurturing young minds from across the world.

Speaking to the media after the ceremony, the proud educationist and social entrepreneur said, "This recognition is dedicated to my country Pakistan.
