Robbers loot cash, valuables in a dozen strikes

ISLAMABAD: Cash and valuables worth millions of rupees were stolen in a dozen strikes in capital, police said on Tuesday In the first incident, a robbers’ gang looted cash and valuables worth Rs26million from a house in Bahria Town Phase II, they added.

Five robbers armed with weapons entered the house of Tahir Akbar Kiani and held up the residents at gunpoint and looted cash, ornaments and other valuables, including watches.

They also took a Kia vehicle while fleeing from the house, they added.

In another robbery, Rs130,000 cash were looted from a shop at I-10 Markaz, the police said, adding that two armed men came on a motorcycle raided the shop and held up the shopkeepers at gunpoint and looted cash and escaped.

Furthermore, a vehicle and cash were also looted from a man on I.J. Principal Road, the police said, adding that two persons riding on a motorcycle intercepted Rabnawaz when he reached there and took him at gunpoint.

The gunmen snatched motorcycle and Rs265,000 in cash and escaped.

Likewise, culprits snatched a mobile phone worth Rs150,000 from a man in F-11 Markaz, the police said.

Moreover, burglars stole cash and ornaments worth Rs1.5million from a house in G-14.

In another incident construction material, including iron bars worth Rs100,000 were also stolen from an under construction house in I-16/1.

Meanwhile, five vehicles were also stolen from different areas of the capital, they added.
