Positivity ratio surges in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: The Covid-19 positivity ratio doubled in Rawalpindi district on Wednesday as it shot to 13.8pc from 7.01pc recorded a day earlier.

As many as 1,184 samples were collected during the last 24 hours, out of which results of 164 people came back positive. As many as 169 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery during the last 24 hours.

In Rawalpindi district, there are 2,291 active patients out of whom 212 are in hospitals, including 80 who arrived from other districts, and 2,079 home isolated.

As many as 30 patients arrived from the cantonment areas, 36 from the city areas and 34 from Potohar Town.

As many as six patients arrived from Kallar Syedan, seven each from Kotli Sattian and Murree, one from Kahuta, 26 from Gujar Khan and 13 from Taxila. Three patients arrived from Islamabad and one from Chakwal.

As many as 212 patients are admitted to city hospitals, including 33 admitted to Holy Family Hospital, 50 to Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH), 82 were under treatment in Rawalpindi Institute of Urology (RIU), three in District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, 32 in Fauji Foundation Hospital (FFH), six patients were in Bilal Hospital, three in Hearts International Hospital, one in Attock Hospital and two in Begum Akhtar Sultana Trust Hospital.

There are eight patients on ventilators in Rawalpindi, 91 are on oxygen support and 113 are stable.
