700 students get full marks in matric exams

LAHORE: Over 700 candidates secured full marks (1,100) in matriculation as the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) announced the results of Secondary School Certificate (annual) 2020-21 on Saturday.

As soon as the result was announced, the Lahore BISE website was hacked allegedly by a banned religious outfit activists seeking release of their detained leader.

The website became inaccessible later in the day till 9:30pm when it was restored.

As many as 206,349 students sat the examination and 204,124 were declared successful, making the passing percentage 98.92. As many as 60,692 students achieved A+ grade, 26,228 A, 31,914 B, 44,557 C, 65,875 D and 59,351 E.

Lahore BISE website hacked

As many as 98.53pc boys and 99.4pc girls passed in the Science Group, and 96.7pc boys and 98.58pc girls in the Arts Group. It is worth mentioning that 43.38pc of students passed the examination with D and E grades.

BISE Chairman Dr Mirza Habib Ali, addressing a press conference, announced that all the students of matriculation who sat the examination were declared successful. Those who did not appear had failed and that a special examination would be held on Dec 11.

Students who were not happy with their results could also appear in the special examination, he added.

A BISE spokesperson said the website had been restored by 9:30pm. He said they would also investigate the matter and lodge complaints to take action against those involved in hacking the website and creating problems for candidates to check their results.

BAHAWALPUR: According to Mazhar Hussain Khokhar, the examinations controller of the BISE, 104,103 candidates sat the matriculation Part II and combined annual examination 2021 out of whom 103,128 were declared successful, showing a passing percentage of 99.06.

GUJRANWALA: BISE Chairman Tariq Mahmood and examinations controller Prof Muhammad Naeem Butt announced that 248,156 candidates sat the exams out of whom 246,392 were declared passed. with a pass percentage of 99.29.

In the Science Group (girls), 86,457 students sat the exam out of which 86,183 passed. In the Humanities Group, 23,623 boys and 46,912 girls sat the exam out of which 23,134 and 46,559, respectively passed.

SAHIWAL: Around 99.23pc students passed the matriculation examination in Sahiwal. BISE Controller Shahzad Rafiq told Dawn that out of 85,339 candidates who sat the exam, 84,683 had passed.

The passing percentage was 100pc in several subjects such as food and nutrition, civics, economics, Persian, Arabic and Muslim history, household accounts, arts and model drawing and elements of home economics.

DERA GHAZI KHAN: The passing percentage of matriculation students here was announced as 99.35pc.

As many as 97,154 candidates sat the exam out of whom 96,530 were declared pass, including 432 who scored full marks.As many as 59,366 boys sat the exam and 58,916 were declared pass, while out of the 37,788 girls, 37,614 remained successful.
