Man with hashish held in Kohat
KOHAT: The Kohat police on Sunday arrested a drug smuggler and seized 75 kilogrammes of hashish he was carrying from Khyber tribal district to Karachi.
Mohammad Kashif, belonging to Kokikhel tribe of Jamrud, was smuggling the contraband in secret cavities of a car, according to a statement.
SHO Riaz Shaheed police station Jamshed Ali made the arrest during checking of vehicles at the toll plaza on the Indus Highway.
A case was registered against the smuggler in the Jarma police station.
TOURNAMENT BEGINS: Regional sports officer Sikandar Shah has said the chief minister will soon inaugurate the newly-established women’s games block, a swimming pool, a gymnasium and hockey Astroturf at the Kohat Sports Complex.
He was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa football tournament to be played among 40 local and 12 other clubs from various districts at the municipal committee ground on Sunday.
Mr Shah said Kohat had been honoured to host the tournament, adding the provincial sports department had launched a talent hunt programme to bring up the best players.
