Pindi sees lowest Covid-19 positivity ratio of the year
ISLAMABAD: As many as 36 people were diagnosed with Covid-19 in Islamabad and Rawalpindi districts on Monday. Rawalpindi district’s positivity ratio dropped to 0.8pc, the lowest level noted during the year whereas the ratio in Islamabad stood at 1.05pc.
Officials of the capital administration said during the last 24 hours 2,944 tests were conducted.
They said four cases each were reported from Lohi Bher, Rawat, and G-10, followed by two each from I-8, F-7 and I-10, and one each from G-13, Tarlai, Koral, G-6, Chak Shahzad, F-11, G-5 and G-8. Addresses of five cases are not known.
There are 328 active cases in the capital, the officials said, adding 60 are admitted to hospitals, 52 are on oxygen support and eight are on ventilators. The remaining patients are quarantined in their houses.
APP adds: According to data released by the District Health Authority, five new infections were reported during the last 24 hours including two patients belonging to Potohar town while one case each was reported from Rawalpindi cantonment, Rawal town and Islamabad.
Presently, 34 confirmed patients are admitted to various city facilities including 11 in Benazir Bhutto Hospital, 20 in Rawalpindi Institute of Urology (RIU), two in Fauji Foundation Hospital and one in Holy Family Hospital (HFH).
As many as 34,591 people have been discharged after recovery out of the total 35,957 confirmed cases reported in the district so far.
One patient is on a ventilator in critical condition, 16 are stable and 17 are on oxygen support.
As many as 3,117,156 people have received the Covid-19 vaccine so far, including 43,833 health workers and 3,073,323 other adults and senior citizens.
Meanwhile, the DSP motorway police along with National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) and RTA secretary Rawalpindi checked vaccination certificates of passengers in public transport and goods carriage vehicles on Islamabad to Peshawar Motorway (M-I).
The teams impounded several vehicles for not following NCOC directions regarding vaccination. Public transport vehicles accommodating non-vaccinated passengers were sent back to bus stands.
Motorway police following the directions of the NCOC had barred those without vaccination certificates in goods transport vehicles from entering Islamabad to Peshawar motorway. The teams with the help of motorway police, injected single dose of Cansino vaccine to passengers and drivers of all kinds of transport.
