Wonder Craft: Origami pen/pencil holder

With most schools having started with regular on-campus classes for some time now, most of you have probably bought the necessary stationery items. However, a pen/pencil holder not something on a regular back-to-school shopping list when there are so many other things to buy.

So for those wanting to have a pencil holder since it helps to keep everything organised on the study table, here is a cute, colourful origami pencil holder for your extra sets of pens and pencils. You can make a couple of it for your desk for easy access whenever needed.

Things you need:

  1. Colourful pages: 6

  2. Hardboard piece

  3. Ruler

  4. Scissors

  5. Glue stick or glue tube

Directions:

  1. Cut 21cmx21cm (length and width wise) pieces from all colourful papers, picture 2.

  2. Two-fold the paper and make a crease, picture 3.

  3. Open and fold two corners inwards as shown in picture 4.

  4. Fold the remaining paper inward horizontally, picture 5.

  5. Paste glue inside all these folds, picture 6.

  6. Fold the horizontal flap of paper inward, both corners meeting at the crease in the centre, picture 7.

  7. Paste any one flap over the other, (forming a cone-like shape) see pictures 8 and 9.

  8. Make 6 such cone-like sections, picture 10. Leave them to dry for some time.

  9. Paste all these sections to one another, pictures 11, 12 and 13.

  10. After all these sections are pasted to each other, leave the holder to dry and then cut a hardboard piece according to the size of this pen/pencil holder and paste it at the bottom with a hot glue gun, picture 14 and 15.

You can decorate all the sections with stickers, patterns or whichever way you like. I made a flower with a smiley and pasted on all sections.
