Gas crisis in Quetta
THE winter season has started in some parts of the country after brief spells of heavy rain. The valley of Quetta is particularly known for its biting cold waves and heavy snowfall during the season. However, long hours of gas shortage and its low pressure across the season adds to the suffering of the people.
The consumption of gas increases during winters as it is used to warm up rooms and to operate geysers. The government should ensure regular and constant supply of gas with good pressure to all households. Gas shortages make life unbearable during the winters. It happens every year without fail, but the government does not pay heed to the complaints.
Since the Sui gas is extracted from Balochistan, the people of the province have the first right of use. But most parts of the province are denied the supply. Isn’t it a grave injustice to the people of Balochistan?
