Government believes in supremacy of judiciary: Bizenjo
QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo has said that his government believes in supremacy of judiciary and rule of law.
Speaking at the Balochistan High Court Bar Association on Wednesday, he said every act of the government would be in accordance with the Constitution and law.
Mr Bizenjo said the government would provide a conducive environment for continuing the development process in the province.
“There is a need for joint efforts. If the law and order situation is not improved, there will be no development. The purpose of our coming to power is to develop Balochistan and give relief to the people,” he said.
The chief minister said the people had high hopes about the judiciary and the government. “We will soon convene a meeting to discuss the problems of lawyers and take steps to resolve them. We believe in practical work instead of lip-service and the people will soon feel its effects,” he said.
He announced grants of Rs5 million for the Balochistan High Court Bar Association and Rs1m each for Sibi, Turbat and other district bars.
Member of the Pakistan Bar Council Munir Ahmad Kakar, President of the Balochistan High Court Bar Association Syed Basit Shah and a large number of lawyers and MPAs Mohammad Khan Lehri, Mir Sikander Umrani, Asghar Tareen and Mir Zabit Reki were also present on the occasion.
