Okara University wins place in QS ranking

OKARA: The University of Okara (UO) has been ranked at 610-650 by the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Asia University Ranking of 2022.

UO Director of Quality Enhancement Cell Dr Muhammad Arshad Kamran said the QS ranking criteria evaluate a university on the basis of their academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty/student ratio, citation per faculty, international faculty ratio and international student ratio.

UO Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Zakria Zakar said that it was a matter of pride for the newly-established institution to be ranked in the QS list. The university was established in 2016.

SUSPENDED: The services of the assistant education officer (AEO) of Markaz Gogera were placed on suspension when the video went viral which showed students of the Government Model School, 17/GD, cleaning the sewerage lines. District and education authorities took notice of the issue and suspended AEO Samiullah Khan from the job. Headmaster Akhtar Hussain Javid of 1/4L high school is looking into the matter.
