Applications for MBBS, BDS from today

LAHORE: The University of Health Sciences (UHS) starts receiving online applications for admissions to MBBS and BDS programmes in public medical and dental colleges of Punjab from Friday (today).

The UHS will receive applications from eligible candidates through the portal of the Bank of Punjab (BoP).

An agreement in this regard was signed between the UHS and the BoP on Thursday, says a press release.

UHS VC Prof Javed Akram and BoP acting president Farid Ahmad Khan signed the agreement.

In a media briefing, Prof Akram said the last date for submission of online applications was Nov 22.

“Eligible candidates can submit online application by visiting www.bop.com.pk/UHS-2021/Login.aspx,” he informed and added that there were 3,376 MBBS seats in 16 government medical colleges and 240 BDS seats in three dental colleges of the province.

The UHS VC said merit would include 10pc marks of matriculation, 40pc marks of intermediate and 50pc marks of the MDCAT.

Only the marks of science subjects obtained in intermediate would be used for the calculation of merit, he said and added that at least 65pc marks, each in intermediate exam and the MDCAT, would be required for admission.

Prof Javed Akram further said the candidates appearing for the HSSC Special Examination and A Level November 2021 Series Examination would also be able to apply and the procedure and conditions for admission of the candidates with delayed results were laid down in the prospectus.

He added that as per the directions of Pakistan Medical Commission, merit list of candidates would be displayed on Dec 10 while college wise selection lists would continue till Jan 10, 2022.

After including the candidates with delayed results, the final selection list would be displayed on Feb 10 and classes would start from Feb 14.
