PML-Q reminds PTI of support thru thick and thin

LAHORE: The PML-Q has reminded the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government how it had helped the ruling party sail smoothly through the Senate elections in Punjab even without asking for votes.

The PML-Q Central Committee continued its consultations on its grievances against the Punjab government on Saturday; however, it decided to take decision on using its options at the party’s larger parliamentary committee meeting today (Sunday).

During the meeting, PML-Q Punjab president and Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Parvez Elahi said the party was taking the PTI along in the centre as well as Punjab for the last three years.

Senator Kamil Ali Agha said the Senate election was enough to remind the government of the PML-Q’s role in forming the government.

Mr Agha said the PTI should know that none of its candidates had come forward to ask for votes in the most difficult election of the Senate.

“It was the PML-Q that had helped the PTI get its all candidates elected as senators,” he added.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar said the PTI’s Punjab government had never adopted a solo policy and always gave due importance to the ally’s proposals. He said the government would continue serving the masses with the support of the PML-Q.

Special Assistant to Chief Minister (SACM) Hasaan Khawar said the PTI and PML-Q were on the same page and the government would further improve its relations with its ally and complete its tenure.

“Any grievance of the PML-Q will be resolved on a priority basis,” he said.

The Punjab government spokesman said some conspirators were trying to create differences between the two allied parties and asserted that such elements would eventually be disappointed.
