Ways to attain success
Success is something which can be attain in many ways, even people who don’t have resources like education, money, etc., can also attain success. It only takes a few steps to know what are our goals, our priorities, and how to be determined in moving towards them.
If we dream something, we should have the spirit and strength to make our dream come true, otherwise it’s useless to dream. As once a great scholar said; “You get what you work for, not what you wish for.”
There are many ways to become successful and some of them are as follows.
Set goals
Let’s take the example of birthday parties, when we decide to do a birthday party at our home, the first thing we do is to make a list of the things we want and make a list of people whom we are going to invite. Similarly, when we wish making our dream come true, we have to set goals and work accordingly.
Once we have made a decision, we have to stick to it, no matter what the circumstances and situation would be.
As Quaid-i-Azam once said: “I believe in taking the right decision, but once I have taken a decision, I stand by it as a one man.”
Put in your best effort
Hard work is the key to success if we are determined and have our goals in mind. But if we don’t work hard to achieve them, then dreams are of no use.
It’s hard to work for something, but, once you work for it, you have got that power to make your desires come true. Everything is hard, but not impossible. We can do anything, but only if we want to do it.
Everybody knows their weak points, but the thing is that we choose to ignore them and not accept them. But we can’t run away and have to face the consequences of our weaknesses one day. The best way to resolve this issue is to overcome our weaknesses and turn them into our strengths
Let me give another example to elaborate this point. If Thomas Edison hadn’t invented the bulb, it would have been difficult for us to live as comfortably as we do today. There would have been no ease of communication as we have today if Charles Babbage didn’t invent the computer, and of course this applies to many other gadgets that we use so commonly today. They would not have been invented because the technology used in the computer led to further development and the inventions of tablets, laptops, mobile phones etc.
If these people have worked hard to give us so much that we have today, why can’t we work hard for ourselves?
Set a study time
We get things when the right time arrives. Our parents buy us mobile phones when we are mature enough to differentiate between right and wrong and can use the device responsibly.
Similarly, it’s necessary to realise when is the right time to study. We have to set a time for studying as we know that we have to sleep at night and wakeup in the morning. So we should know our priorities, as well as when we have to study, play, use a device and watch TV.
We should at least study for about two to three hours a day, when there are no tests or exams. We don’t have to do it in a way that puts us under tremendous pressure. We should study for one hour and take a break of about 10 to 15 minutes, then we should again get back to our work. In this way, we can build a study habit that will not seem like a burden.
Eliminate your weak points
Everybody knows their weak points, but the thing is that we choose to ignore them and not accept them. But we can’t run away and have to face the consequences of our weaknesses one day.
The best way to resolve this issue is to overcome our weaknesses and turn them into our strengths. Students face difficulties in many subjects, be it maths, physics, chemistry, biology, etc., but by studying them regularly and solving the problems and numerical on daily basis, we can improve in those subjects. Slowly, but surely, we would start developing interest in that subject.
I hated maths, but by practicing the sums, getting help from an adult and by tutorial videos, I overcame my diffifulties and got good marks. This gave me the confidence that I could do it and maths was not a monster that I could not control. It gave me the motivation to believe in myself and this confidence helped me do better in other subjects too.
I believe no student is a weak student. Each of us can do anything, if we put our minds to it. We have to believe in ourselves and work hard, then we can overcome any weakness that we may have.
Indulge in extra-curricular activities
While it is important to study and not waste our time, it is also important to keep ourselves relaxed and happy.
I believe no student is a weak student. Each of us can do anything, if we put our mind to it. We have to believe in ourselves and work hard, then we can overcome any weakness that we may have
We are humans, we need rest. Even machines need rest. We can easily take out some spare time for our hobbies and to have fun. We should read novels, newspapers, magazines, watch movies, take part in sports, and make a craft or cook something. This way, we would be fresh and relaxed enough to focus when studying.
Be an all-rounder
Being a top student will take you places in your academic life, but being a person who is good in a number of things, like an all rounder, will take you places in real life.
It is often seen that those who are very intelligent or focused just on their studies, lack other life skills, such as getting along with people, playing sports, solving everyday life’s problems, public speaking and things that others around them can do easily. And when they step out of the classroom into practical life, they can have a hard time since they spent all their time with their books and know little about other stuff.
So, to be successful in life, we must focus on our overall personality, with the academic side being a very important one, and try to learn all we can.
So these were some basic ways to attain success. I will end with a nice saying that I find very motivating:
“Success is never permanent, failure is never final. So don’t stop making efforts, until your victory makes a history.”
