Wonder Craft: Jute rope Christmas tree

I would like to wish all my Christian readers a Merry Christmas, and on this auspicious day, I have something special for you. Any guesses?

Well, how about an unconventional Christmas tree which you can place in your room, on your side table or just anywhere you like. Of course, the traditional Christmas trees are elegant with twinkling lights and ball ornaments, but let’s make this year’s celebration even more special by putting a little more thought into your personalised Christmas tree, which takes only a few minutes in completion.

Things you need:

  1. Jute rope

  2. Hot glue gun

  3. White beads

  4. 10 skewers or any kind of sticks

  5. Cardboard piece (cut in circle, maximum 4-inches circumference)

  6. Fairy lights of any colour

Note: Always take help from an elder when using hot glue.

Directions:

  1. Use any hard paper to make 1-cm wide boarder around circular cardboard piece, picture 2.
  2. Take the skewers/sticks and with the help of hot glue, paste them on four sides of this circular base, picture 3.

  3. Measure the distance and paste all the sticks around the base, picture 4.

  4. Hold the top of all the sticks together, making a cone-like shape, picture 5.

  5. Carefully wrap the jute rope around the sticks, using hot glue at intervals so that the rope remains on its place, pictures 6 and 7.

  6. Keep wrapping until you reach the top, cover the pointed part of the sticks carefully, picture 8.

  7. Make a hole at the bottom of the cardboard base to insert the fairy lights inside, picture 9.

  8. Glue beads on the ‘Christmas tree’, as shown in picture 10.

  9. Insert the fairy lights from the bottom and stick a star of any colour on top of the tree, picture 11. n
