National kabaddi quarters line-up decided
LAHORE: The 42nd National Kabaddi Championship entered the quarter-finals stage as seven more matches were decided here at the Punjab Stadium on Wednesday.
Wapda, Army, Police, PAF, HEC and three teams of Punjab — South, Central and Northern — qualified for the last-eight stage.
All the matches played on Wednesday remained very much one-sided affairs.
The PAF flew high to topple North Punjab 65-38 in the day’s first match. Wapda bulldozed Central Punjab 41-22, POF Wah outplayed Sukkur 35-13, Army crushed South Punjab 53-19, Railways routed Islamabad 32-13, Peshawar brushed aside Quetta 38-12 and Police shocked hosts HEC 47-31 in the day’s last match.
In Thursday’s quarter-finals, PAF take on the HEC and Wapda face South Punjab while on Friday, Army lock horns with Central Punjab and Police meet North Punjab.
