GB quake-hit people get Rs4m
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) has provided financial assistance of more than Rs4 million to the people affected by earthquake in Gilgit-Baltistan.
GB Governor Raja Jalal Hussain Maqpoon and PBM Managing Director Malik Zaheer Abbas Khokhar had visited district Roundu and other areas affected by the earthquake last month to assess the damages.
As many as 100 people were identified to have been badly affected by the earthquake and were provided financial assistance from the fund of the social safety net.
The financial support includes Rs50,000 for each of the affected family to re-build their house. Injured persons were provided Rs30,000 each and the family of a deceased person was given Rs100,000.
Wheel chairs and elbow crutches were also provided to the persons with disabilities.
