Marriyum rubbishes PTI claim of coup in PML-N
LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) propaganda that some prominent PML-N leaders want to replace the Sharifs in the party, in fact, stems from its failed attempt to stop flight of migratory birds from the ruling party, who are actually worried about the worst performance of their government and their own fate in the next election, believes Nawaz League.
“The PTI has emerged as a propaganda party which has a history of telling lies and fooling the public on every issue. Its spin doctors have now come up with yet another ploy to create divisions among the PML-N ranks, which is not new propaganda,” PML-N information secretary Marriyum Aurangzeb said in a talk with Dawn on Tuesday.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry recently claimed that at least four PML-N leaders had gone to meet “someone” (a reference to the establishment) with the offer that they should be considered for patronage if their party supremo (Nawaz Sharif) did not suit the powers that be.
“PML-N’s four top leaders met someone and told him that Nawaz Sharif did a great wrong to the country, so why don’t they consider them. An interesting race is going on within the opposition party,” Chaudhry had said.
Rubbishing the claim, Ms Aurangzeb said: “The PTI will bite the dust in this case too. Let me be very categorical that this propaganda won’t help unite the PTI lawmakers. Through propagating that some PML-N leaders want their role instead of the Sharifs, the PTI leadership is trying its best to stop their own migratory birds (electables) from parting ways with the ruling party.”
“A clear dissent is being witnessed in the PTI ranks and the result of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa local polls is before everyone. Once the time is ripe, you will see that even the PTI’s main leaders will not be with Imran Niazi,” she said.
Former information minister predicted that soon the PTI would be in disarray and in the coming general elections there would be hardly a few candidates interested in the party’s ticket.
Another PML-N leader says the PTI’s whole politics revolves around the Sharifs as it has nothing to offer to the masses.
In reply to Special Assistant to Prime Minister Shahbaz Gill’s statement that a video about the four PML-N leaders seeking to replace the Sharifs was about to surface, the PML-N leader from Punjab said: “Anything can be expected from this puppet regime as it can stoop to the lowest level to make its propaganda look real. But it will fail too, like in the past.”
